My name is Gabriëlle Brinkman, I live with my two cats and dogs in a small town called Zutphen, in the Netherlands. Since the year 2000 I am surrounded by Border Collies. At the time I bought my first border collie in the year 2000, I was finishing my degree for dogsbehaviorspecialist. In 2002 I bought Gwen as a puppy, she is the first Border collie I worked on sheep. With Gwen, my second Border Collie, I started working with sheep, and since then never stopped. The amount of pleasure, you and your dog can have with working sheep is so much fun. In the year 2003 I started to go to trials with Gwen. She did very well and likes to learn and work with me in training. I bought Megan, my third Border Collie in September 2005 from Mike van der Most (www.descheperij.nl). Megan became two years old in July 2007, and I am just starting her in trials. She has a very nice and steady character, is friendly to other dogs and children, and a fanatic worker with sheep. She is very quick, and foreword, she has plenty of power and learns very easy. From November 2006 until half of august 2007 I took my dogs to North Wales. For me it was an adventure to go to another country for a longer period of time. I worked on two sheepfarms. One farm owned 1800 sheep and the other owned 3500 sheep. Both dogs and myself gained a lot of experience during that time, it was very nice to work outside in such a beautiful country in the hills and mountains. I like trailing and training my dogs very much, being outside and learn from them, and see that they enjoy themselves as well, is something I keep enjoying.
